Vietnam continues to be an attractive destination for US investors

24/03/2022

Recently, the American Business Council – ASEAN (USABC) together with representatives of more than 30 US enterprises currently doing business and investment in Vietnam has consulted and worked with leaders of the Government, National Assembly, Vietnamese ministries and sectors in Hanoi.

USABC is a leading business council, established to promote economic growth and trade relations between the United States and 10 ASEAN countries.

This visit is part of USABC’s annual activity in each Southeast Asian country to share, collaborate and exchange business activities of member enterprises with senior leaders of ASEAN regional governments entitled “2022 Senior Executives Business Mission”.

At bilateral meetings, the USABC delegation comprising more than 30 of the largest U.S. enterprises operating in Vietnam thanked the Party leadership, the Vietnamese Government for its success in controlling the COVID-19 epidemic through the “Vaccine Diplomacy Strategy” as well as the close direction of the Party, Government and Congress in economic recovery.

All of that has been a great support for the entire business community in general as well as U.S. businesses operating in Vietnam in particular, firmly and step by step overcoming the great challenges of almost 2 years.

More than 30 U.S. businesses are active in all sectors and cover most of the nation’s business sectors such as Energy, aviation, pharmaceuticals, food, e-commerce, social media, cinema, and fast consumer goods. In particular, Amway Vietnam is the only unit in the direct sales industry to join USABC’s delegation.

Amway representatives reported on Amway’s business development, long-term investment commitments and sustainable development in the Vietnamese market.

Mr Nguyen Phuong Son, Amway Vietnam Foreign Affairs Director, extended his sincere thanks to the support of the Government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the development of direct sales (multi-level sales) growth of 2 consecutive digits in the period 2018-2021.

In addition, Mr Nguyen Phuong Son also recommended to the legislature to consider supplementing the regulation on “Direct Sales” according to international practices to help this day continue sustainable development, strongly contributing to the development of the country’s socio-economic development.
